Sommerfest

Liebe Schüler, Eltern und Freunde der GLS Ottawa,
es war eine schwierige Zeit für unsere Schule während der Pandemie, aber mit dem fantastischen Einsatz der Lehrer, Schüler und Freiwilligen ist es uns gelungen, den Schulbetrieb aufrechtzuerhalten, und wir hoffen, dass wir alle bald wieder persönlich unterrichten können.
Da das Internationale Sprachprogramm (ILP) des französisch-katholischen Schulamtes noch nicht wieder zum Präsenzunterricht zurückgekehrt ist, können wir noch kein Sommerfest an der Schule veranstalten. Deshalb hat GLS Ottawa beschlossen, uns allen die Möglichkeit zu geben, uns am 18. Juni auf Petrie Island zu einem verkleinerten Sommerfest zu treffen.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass dies keine offizielle Veranstaltung der Schulbehörde ist, sondern von der GLS Ottawa organisiert wird. Dementsprechend sind die Lehrer nicht mehr im Dienst und die Eltern sind für die Beaufsichtigung ihrer Kinder auf Petrie Island voll verantwortlich.
GLS Ottawa wird von 10 Uhr bis mindestens 13 Uhr auf dem Picknickplatz sein und wieder unsere mittlerweile traditionellen Bratwürste, Hot Dogs & Bretzeln anbieten. Bitte füllen Sie das untenstehende Formular aus, um diese bis zum 10. Juni zu bestellen und zu bezahlen. Bitte bringen Sie Ihre eigenen Getränke mit.
Das Parken auf Petrie Island kostet 2 $ für 5 Stunden, und es gibt einen Strand mit Rettungsschwimmern, Naturlehrpfade und viel Platz für ein Fußball- oder Volleyballspiel - Sie können also ruhig einen ganzen Tag daraus machen. Weitere Informationen finden Sie hier: https://www.petrieisland.org

Dear students, parents and friends of GLS Ottawa,
it has been a challenging time for our school during the pandemic, but with the fantastic effort of the teachers, students and volunteers, we managed to keep the school going and we hope to be all back to in-person classes soon.
Since the International Language Program (ILP) of the French-Catholic school board did not switch back to in-person classes yet, we can not hold a Sommerfest at the school yet. Therefore, GLS Ottawa decided to offer the opportunity for all of us to meet on Petrie Island on June 18 for a scaled-down Sommerfest.
Please note that this is not an official school board event, but it is organized by GLS Ottawa. Accordingly, the teachers are not on duty anymore and parents are entirely responsible for the supervision of their children on Petrie Island.
GLS Ottawa will be at the Picnic area from 10 a.m. to at least 1 p.m. and offer once again our now traditional Bratwurst, Hot Dogs and Pretzels. Please fill out the form below to order and pay for them by June 10. Please bring your own beverages.
Parking is $2 for 5 hours at Petrie Island, and there is a beach with life guards, nature trails and lots of space for a soccer or volleyball game, so feel free to make a whole day out of it. More info can be found here: https://www.petrieisland.org
